The connection between the operating element and the shaft is often made by a cross pin or a grub screw. As a result, the user is faced with relatively high assembly costs since cross holes on operating elements are usually not readily available. Components with cross holes according to GN 110 are not only manufactured and supplied at very competitive prices but there is also no need for time-consuming design drawings. However, the geometrical shape of some operating elements does not allow the use of this standard. The d₂ pin hole is intended for use with a spring pin.
