Cam action indexing plungers GN 712.1 are used in applications where the plunger pin has to protrude only occasionally. When the lever arm is turned by 90 or 120 degrees in a clockwise direction, the plunger pin is moved through a curved opening in the body. Then, the plunger pin is protruding.
Each version has its advantages as follows:
Type A / AK: After turning the lever arm clockwise 90 degrees to protrude the plunger pin, releasing the lever arm allows the plunger pin via the spring to retract automatically.
Type R / RK: After turning the lever arm clockwise 120 degrees to protrude the plunger pin, there is a lock-out position for the guide pin that holds, via the spring, the protruding plunger pin in place. Turning the lever arm counter-clockwise releases the plunger pin to its normal retracted position.
Type S / SK: After turning the lever clockwise 120 degrees to protrude the plunger pin, there is a secure lock-out position for the guide pin holding the protruding plunger pin, via the spring, in place. Pushing down, turning the lever arm counter-clockwise and releasing the lever arm allows the plunger pin to retract to its normal position.
